like a chicken with my head cut off....

Yes, that's me. I'm so overwhelmed I'm having great difficulty focusing on any task in front of me. Too many things to think about. Today, I did, however, get some class proposals sent in with hopes of teaching at Artful Texas in May next year! Still have a couple to send in there though. Also still have classes to propose for Art Unraveled. However, I'm trying to be realistic at this point. I may be able to start moving my things next week into the new house and I have got to get moving on packing. I've packed a few boxes but am finding that I have lots of things to go through as I don't want to pack things I don't really need. I'm trying to clean out and weed out. It's a slow process and I can't afford slow! So, I think I need to focus on the remaining things to gather for my classes I'm teaching at AU and just pack. I will just know that immediately following AU, I have to crank like nobodies business to get all my proposals in for 2011 retreats! I just can't do it right now. I also am still going through books and choosing art projects for the next school year which starts the beginning of September for me. The definite plan for that also has to wait until after AU. I may be a crazy woman by mid September! Guess it will make vacation that much sweeter. Did I tell ya'll that I am going to be taking my boys on a vacation during fall break? I don't remember if I did. Well, in October, we are going to the beach for a week! I got tickets when SWA was having their anniversary sale so only $39. each way! Found a condo at the same places we always stay in Oceanside for less than hotel costs. It's a tiny place, only one bedroom, but we'll manage for the week. As long as I can see and hear the ocean from my room, I am one happy camper and don't care much about where I'm sleeping. I'm only going for the beach. We don't have much in the way of plans other than vegging and relaxing since it will be our first vacation in over 2-1/2 years. The boys and I are very excited and I surely need a break.

It's been quiet in my house. Sam is spending night number 2 with Granny so it's just been me and Max. Pretty quiet.

Well, Lord have mercy, I just looked at the clock. It's 12:15 A.M.! This is abnormal for me. I have to get to bed! It's WAY past bedtime! I blame it on "So you think you can dance." I just discovered that they now have full episodes online so I just watched like, oh, 2 hours of dancing! LOVE that show and haven't gotten to watch it in years. Since I don't have a t.v., that, in and of itself, presents a problem! Now that it's online, I'm overjoyed! And Project Runway starts back at the end of the month too! I'm in heaven! LOL!

OK, seriously, I need to go to bed.

I have had some people giving me boxes so I've driven around and picked them up. Also, I was so fortunate as to find the perfect coffee table and end tables on Craigslist this week for a smokin' deal! EXACTLY what I was looking for! I'm excited that I'll now have a living room that is JUST a living room without art supplies everywhere! Having a real room to sit in and read, chat, etc.. will be wonderful! I've also been given some other furniture pieces I needed!

You sure have a lot on your plate. Good luck with the proposals. Good luck with the move. I hope to be able to visit you in your new home : )

Hi!
Thanks so much for the insightful comment on my blog about the latest Decision Portrait piece. I honestly think most people WOULD choose to medicate a child with severe ADHD....which is why I elected to stitch this woman's opposite choice. Many of these portraits are quite thought-provoking. I'm glad that your son is doing so well....especially with such immediate, positive reactions. Your life right now sounds a lot like mine.....busy, busy, busy....and, yes, filled with dance! My husband absolutely ADORED "So You Think You Can Dance" and never misses an episode. Of course, our elder son is a professional dancer.....but....we've always loved this special art form!

I understand exactly how you feel! So many wonderful things to do, where to start! I hope you post the boxes projects, I love to see what people do with found objects. Have you tried "freecycle?" If you're looking for something specific, you can ask the group. You may be surprised!

Love your art!

Blessings,

How did your class proposals for Art Texas go? Did they get accepted? what classes were you proposing?
