Revisiting a painting in progress

Some of you may remember my working on this piece. It's been a long time since I've worked on it and posted pictures so I thought I'd show the progression of the piece and where it is now. It is not a piece of my "pretty work" but part of my own personal story. The pain was refreshed as I added on the broken glass yesterday. Lots of grieving in my heart. I thank God that He doesn't leave us stuck in the pain and mess but He redeems. It's part of the process... this piece is just another part of mine.

This reminds me of a painting from another time. Almost like a Russian icon. Then again, kind of contemporary too.In any case, I like it!

A very strong and emotional piece.

It's so beautiful, although I can see the pain. I too make pieces that are not beautiful, but express emotions. They can be hard to make, but also very rewarding.

Powerful piece Angie! Some of my most potent pieces have been born from intense emotions. I feel blessed that I am aware of the creative process as a means for my emotional expression. It seems to serve you well also.
Blessings.
